On Sunday February 17, 2008, Reliance Power Ltd had announced proposed bonus shares for its investors other than promoters. Today, after a week, the bonus shares were declared. Reliance Power Ltd declared that 3 bonus shares will be issued for every 5 shares held. Earlier the issue price of Reliance Power Ltd. IPO was fixed at Rs.450/- per share. Retail Investors were given a discount of Rs.20/- per share
Consequently, the bonus issue will reduce the cost per share of Reliance Power Ltd. for retail investors to about Rs.269/- and for non-retail investors to about Rs.281/-
The record date for bonus shares will be decided upon and all investors who hold shares as on that date will be eligible for bonus.
