The Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam (RINL) is likely to hit the market in third week of October, most probably on October 16. The issue price would be finalised at a meeting of the Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM), likely on October 8, and be made public the next day

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), also known as Vizag Steel, is an Indian government-owned steel producer. Based in Visakhapatnam, RINL has been awarded the Navaratna status, with accompanying autonomy of operations, due to its strong financial performance.

According to a report in Economic Times, The government plans to come out with two initial public offers (IPO) - Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited(RINL) and National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) - to raise about Rs 3,000 crore in the current fiscal itself as part of its efforts to garner funds

The year of 2011 has not been the best of the years for IPO and the government would be looking to make over some of the divestment target till March, 2012. The aforesaid IPOs may help in taking Government's divestment objectives a step further

The Government of India owned Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) (Vizag Steel) is planning to come up with an Initial Public Offer (IPO) of Equity Shares as part of the Goverment's divestment strategy. The Department of Disinvestment in the Ministry of Finance, Government of India has invited request for proposals from merchant bankers to engage Book Running Lead Managers to handle the issue

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited is a wholly owned Government of India enterprise under the administrative control of the Ministry of Steel. The Company, incorporated in February 1982, is involved in the production and marketing of carbon steel products in the long category and basic grade pig iron, through its operating unit at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The present steel production capacity of RINL is 2.9 million tonnes per annum

In order to facilitate the listing of RINL, the Government is considering the disinvestment of 10% paid-up equity share capital of the Company out of Government of India's 100% shareholding, through an Initial Public Offer in the domestic market
